Tristan TZARA. From memory, poem. Lithographs by Pablo Picasso. Paris, Bordas, 1950. Large in-4, black morocco, smooth spine, title in intaglio vellum lettering, circular openwork decoration on the plates on a vellum background with eleven large round and hard pastilles in relief, beige suede lining and guard, gilt edges on witnesses, printed cover and parchment spine preserved, shirt, case (Leroux, 1974). Original edition: it is illustrated with nine original lithographs by Pablo Picasso on full page, one of which is on the title. Limited edition of 350 numbered copies. One of the 30 copies on holland Van Gelder Zonen (#22), signed by the author and the painter and accompanied by a suite of lithographs on japan. Second illustrated book of Tzara given by Bordas, the year after L'Antitête. The poet had published an album on Picasso in 1948 by Skira in the collection Les Trésors de la peinture française. To compose the nine lithographs illustrating De mémoire d' homme, Picasso used "an unusual lithographic process: he dipped his finger in lithographic ink to draw a flora and fauna both familiar and strange, whose outlines he then marked with a litho pencil" (Goeppert). Very beautiful decorated binding by Georges Leroux (Goeppert & Cramer, Pablo Picasso, catalogue raisonné des livres illustrés, no. 59).
