Paris, printed in Paris, at home; sold by Duchêne, 1802. 4 parts in volumes in-12 (180 x 112 mm) of an engraved frontispiece, 2 ff.n.ch., 356 pp. for part I; an engraved frontispiece, 360 pp., and pp. 138bis/ter for part II; an engraved frontispiece, 360 pp. for part III; an engraved frontispiece, 335 pp.., 18 ff.n.ch. de catalogue pour la partie IV; paperback, grey dumb cover, printed title piece, 2 modern cardboard cases. Original edition. " Following Bordes de Fortages, most copies do not have pages 117 to 123 of the first volume. What is certain is that the book was seized by the police in 1802 and had to be reworked" (Rives-Childs). Extremely rare complete copy, with the engravings for which Rives-Childs states: "On page 302 of Volume IV, there is a description of the four prints that are almost never found in the copies that were put on sale long after the seizure. A copy with all margins, complete with the four engraved frontispieces and the 18 catalogue leaves at the end of Volume IV.
