[TOLOSAN (Jean-François de)]. Memoir on the trade of France and its colonies. Paris, Moutard, 1789 - (Followed by) Draft revision or reform of the Edict of March 1673, commonly known as the Ordonnance du Commerce; with notes in the form of a commentary, indicative of the various changes that were made there, and the reasons for them. S.l.n.d. Two parts in one volume in-4 of 122 pp.; 211 pp., one folding board, contemporary marbled calf binding, spine decorated, red edges. Rare first edition of this work due to the steward of the trade of Tolosan. It is followed by a draft revision of the 1673 Trade Ordinance, itself followed by several memoirs. In fine, a leaflet table giving a comparative statement of the costs of bankruptcies, between the Consular Jurisdictions and the ordinary jurisdictions. INED, 4339: Agriculture and industry are the essence of commerce. Presentation of the resources of France and its colonies in these three fields. Domestic trade is more advantageous than foreign trade; interest of maintaining monopolies for the benefit of freedom of trade. A fine example. Ex-dono manuscript of the author on the title. Restorations to the headdresses and corners.
