In-12: green half-maroquin, smooth spine, ivory vellum boards framed with a green morocco band and a gilt fillet, untrimmed, gilt head, cover and spine preserved, case (Pierre-Lucien Martin, 1956). First edition. Number 1 of 75 first copies on Montgolfier laid paper. Corrected and annotated copy by Paul Eluard. In addition to ten typographical corrections, the poet has included two additions: an excerpt from Juliette's last letter Drouet to Victor Hugo and five slang expressions. Bound at the end: "Deux quatrains de Paul Féval" typed on blue linen paper; the announcement leaf for the conference given by Paul Eluard presenting his book at the Théâtre Pigalle; conference organized by the company Le Diable écarlate; the printed part of the band covering the book bearing, on a blue background: "Poètes qui s'ignorent et poètes qui s'oublient." A fine copy.
