Robert CRÉGUT.
The Keyhole. Nouvelles illustrées par Ubac. Paris, Le Soleil Noir, 1968. In-12: paperback, illustrated front cover; in publisher's slipcase with window on top flap showing print. First edition. One of the first copies on Arches vellum contained in a publisher's slipcase with seven original prints from engraved stones and an original etching by Raoul Ubac opposite the volume. The first edition was limited to 67 copies to which collaborators' copies were obviously added; indeed, the book is not justified, but the accompanying prints, all signed artist's proofs, are justified "X/XV". The prints are printed in colour on a very fine linen paper and mounted in paper frames; the etching, also in colour, on a strong laid paper. Attached, from the archives of François Di Dio: - File addressed to the printer R. Girard about the composition of the work, with notes by François Di Dio; - Robert Crégut, Vociférations. Typescript; - Di Dio, Redécouvrons Robert Crégut. Manuscript of 3 leaves and typescript of 3 pages; - Robert Crégut, Le Trou de serrure. Typescript including La Corrida, L'Homme qui avait froid, Le Douanier, L'Orage en ville, La Partie de poker, La Course de relais, Le Trou de serrure. Typescript extensively corrected by François Di Dio for the edition published two years after Crégut's death.
