Nezval. The friendship between Jindrich Štyrský and André Breton dates from this period. At the beginning of 1935, the Czech Surrealists invited André Breton and Paul Eluard at their own expense; they were joined by Breton's new companion Jacqueline Lamba. They gave several lectures in March and April, when Jindrich Štyrský presented this emblematic collage to Jacqueline Lamba. The collage is reproduced on the front cover and on page 139 of the catalogue Cesky Surrealismus 1929-1953 (Prague, 1996).
