Nada temàis, Señora. [1935]. Collage on paper (25.2 x 17 cm). Original collage by Remedios Varo (1908-1963), from her early years, which belonged to Marcel Jean. The Spanish artist was to meet Oscar Dominguez and Marcel Jean in Barcelona the following year. A future companion of Benjamin Péret, she participated in the activities of the Surrealists from this time on. Remedios Varo was to assert herself as a fully-fledged artist during her exile in Mexico in the 1950s. "Surrealism claims her as its own", André Breton said of her work in his homage published in the magazine La Brèche in December 1964. Provenance: Marcel Jean.
