FLORIAN (Jean-Pierre Claris de).
Oeuvres. Paris, Renouard, 1820. Sixteen volumes in-12, contemporary bindings in long-grained red morocco, on the boards gilt garland curving at the four corners to give way to gilt spandrels in small irons in a frame of two gilt fillets and a cold garland, spines decorated with nerves, inner scroll, gilt edges (Simier). First edition. A beautiful edition published by Renouard, the most complete one given until then, illustrated with 80 steel-engraved figures after Moreau-le-jeune and Desenne. Sometimes joined to this set are four volumes of unpublished works published by Pixérécourt and issued in 1824 by Boulland. A very fine copy, printed in-12 on vellum paper, in delightful bindings by Simier. A few scattered freckles, not serious.
