Masks and faces. Paris, Paulin et Lechevalier, 1857. Small in-8, lavaliere glazed calf, double framed with gilt filets with corner fleurons on the boards, spine decorated with nerves, inner fillet with corner fleurons, gilt edges on witnesses, grey cover decorated with a vignette on each board and spine preserved (M. Lortic). First edition and first printing. Frontispiece and numerous drawings by Gavarni in the text interpreted on wood in reduction by Godefroy- Durand. Pages 237 to 267 are occupied by a Catalogue of Gavarni's work. A fine copy. Covers lined with small tears in the spine.
