Frontispiece in black, 36 coloured plates out of text and 146 woodcuts in the text, some of them full page after Grandville. Text by Taxile Delord. The white cover, reproduced by Carteret, is illustrated with large woodcuts not reproduced in the book. One of Grandville's most astonishing works, composed and illustrated in a surrealist vein.
