Enclosed a letter written by a young man to his "dear father", dated Baden Baden, September 12, 1864, relating his trip to Geneva, Basel, Lake Geneva and the crossing of the Alps to the Duchy of Baden, three pages in-8 with stamped envelope: "Nature has been most prodigious to this city [Baden Baden], but art has done much more; all the refinements of luxury are accumulated in this privileged little corner [....], a meeting place for the aristocracy of all Europe. It is a kind of Babylon where one hears all languages, where one sees a bigarrangement, a very funny jumble of all the eccentricities of all countries".
