Voyage en Italie. Paris, Bourdin et Cie, 1839. Large in-8, contemporary binding in midnight blue chagrin, large framing in rocaille style composed of large scrolls with special irons, flowers, birds, lions, grotesques, spine decorated in the same way, gilt edges (Boutigny). First edition and first printing. Woodcut vignette on the title by Rouargue and 14 plates out of text with captions engraved on steel after Harding, Prout and Bartlett. A fine specimen typical of Boutigny's rocaille style bindings, whose signature is included in a curved scroll at the bottom of the spine and his label on the first flyleaf.
