La Normandie. Illustrated by MM. Morel-Fatio, Tellier, Gigoux, Daubigny, Debon, H. Bellangé, Alfred Johannot. Paris, Bourdin, s.d. (1843). Large in-8, half blue long-grained morocco with corners, spine ribbed and decorated, untrimmed, illustrated cover and spine preserved (Mercier sr de Cuzin). First edition. Engraved title-frontispice with steel vignette, two maps, a steel portrait of Corneille, 22 steel-engraved plates out of the text and about 180 wood-engraved vignettes in the text. One of the very rare copies on China paper (six after Jules Janin), with all margins, to which have been attached the eight coloured plates (2 of coats of arms and 6 of costumes) of the second edition, the illustrated prospectus (4 pages) and a notice to subscribers.
