Memorial of Saint Helena. Followed by Napoleon in exile, by MM. O'Méara and Antomarchi, and the history of the translation of the mortal remains of the emperor Napoleon to the Invalides. Paris, Bourdin, 1842. Two volumes large in-8, half red long-grained morocco with corners, smooth spines decorated with gilt fillets and fleurons with imperial attributes, untrimmed, illustrated covers and spines preserved (Mercier sr. de Cuzin). First edition. Two frontispieces, two illustrated mastheads, two maps, 27 plates out of text and about 500 vignettes in the text, all wood-engraved mainly after Charlet. A very fine copy bound in pamphlet with its beautiful illustrated cover in perfect condition, enriched with: - a smoked copy (volume I, page 201), annotated and signed by Charlet; - 37 delivery covers; - two prospectuses (4 pages each); - the rare Placement of the engravings leaf in two copies, one of which is flying on blue paper.
