Two large volumes in-8, long-grained lemon half-maroquin with corners, smooth spines finely decorated throughout with black morocco title-pieces and tomes, untrimmed, illustrated covers and spines preserved (Mercier sr de Cuzin). First edition. Frontispiece, 37 plates out of text and more than 240 woodcut vignettes in the text by Brugnot after Tony Johannot, Wattier, Baron, Girardet, etc. A very good copy. 2 different illustrated leaflets added (4 pages each). From the library of Paul Villeboeuf (1963, no. 277), with his gilt monogram on the first counterfoil.
