Les Mystères de Paris. New edition, revised by the author. Paris, Ch. Gosselin and Librairie Garnier frères, 1843-44. Four large volumes in-8, half red long-grained morocco with corners, spines ornamented, untrimmed, illustrated covers and spines preserved (Stroobants). First edition. 8I plates out of text, of which 47 woodcuts by Lavoignat, Best and Leloir, the others on steel, executed on drawings by Daubigny, Daumier, Nanteuil, Staal, Girardet, etc., and numerous woodcut vignettes in the text. First illustrated edition, rare in fine condition. A superb copy, in absolutely perfect condition, with all its general covers preserved as new and enriched with ten delivery covers. Two illustrated prospectuses (4 pages each) and a notice to subscribers added. From the libraries of Cortland Bishop (1938, no. 2162), Daniel Sicklès (probably New-York sale, 1947) and Lucien Tissot-Dupont with their bookplates
