REY DE PLANAZU
Agricultural works. No. 1-26. Paris & Troyes, Grangé & Gobelet, 1786-1787. 26 fascicles in-4 (261 x 202 mm) with an allegorical frontispiece in black and 29 engraved and coloured plates. Marbled basane, gilt border ; smooth spine decorated, marbled edges (period binding). First edition. Beautiful publication for the promotion of agriculture in France. In the first booklet, Rey de Planazu deplores the current state of agriculture in France, which is why he decided to give courses in which he proposes ingenious machines to improve its profitability. There are details on fertilizer, a sowing machine, a fan for fodder, a device for preserving pome fruits, etc. The last booklet is devoted to bees. A complete copy with its 29 coloured plates (all signed by de Planazu) and the allegorical frontispiece supplied with booklet 23. Unfortunately, the texts for quires 21 and 22 are missing. Spellings to the binding.
