Red percale, decorated upper board (including elephants), smooth spine with gilt title, gilt head (publisher's binding). First edition. Illustrated from drawings and photographs by Major E.A.P. Hobday. Apart from his official duties, Sykes was a hunter (elephant, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, etc.) and gives here an account of his exploits. Slightly spotted, otherwise a very fine copy in the publisher's decorative binding.
