Czech, African Big Game, 176. First edition of the translation containing stories of elephant, buffalo, hippo, leopard and crocodile hunting. His narrative recounts the difficulties of his expeditions, being somewhat reminiscent of Henry Stanley's experience" (Czech). The Geographical Journal called von Wissemann "one of the most famed pioneer-explorers of tropical Africa". Small stains on binding, otherwise a fine copy.
