Jansenist havana morocco, spine ribbed, interior roulette, edges gilt (Chambolle-Duru). Schreiber, Estienne, 152 ("This first edition was not adequately supplanted until the 19th century and is consequently rare"); Renouard, Estienne, 123:6. Missing from Adams. First edition of these fragments of poetry by Latin poets, including Ennius, Caecilius, Livius Andronicus, Pacuvius, Naevius, Lucilius, Accius, and others. Begun by Robert Estienne, it was completed by his son Henri who added Greek sources. A fine copy of this extremely rare edition.
