First edition, very rare, of Jacques Lacan's article on the family, taken from volume VIII of the French Encyclopedia edited by Lucien Febvre. Precious autograph letter signed : To Gaston Bachelard // Master of images... // J Lacan // This December 22, 1945 Autograph letter signed addressed to the philosopher enclosed: "If you still remember a character you met at the Logic Days, you will know that he remembers a promise and even that he never forgot it, keeping it so late. I do not have in my hand any good (or bad) sheets of my article on Logical Time, but I hope to bring some back from a remote place where I will seek the freedom of a little personal work." The article entitled Logical Time and the Assertion of Anticipated Certainty appeared in Les Cahiers d'art in 1945. Logical time is a notion that both Bachelard and Lacan have studied. Copy with pencil reading marks and a question mark on page 6 of the second chapter. Cover edges worn.
