[Paul éluard]. Jean du Haut. The Seven Poems of Love in War. Without place [Saint-Alban-sur-Limagnole], December 14, 1943. Illustrated manuscript of 17 leaves in-12 [16,5 x 12,7 cm], transparent plastic cover, title in red gouache, joined by two cords. Superb manuscript illustrated with nine original compositions in Indian ink and gouache, realized in the asylum of Saint-Abansur- Limagnole. It offers the whole of the Seven Poems of love in war, that Eluard had just made print clandestinely from his refuge in Lozere. Thereafter, they were taken again in Au rendez-vous allemand (1944). Nine original compositions mixing ink drawings and original gouaches, obtained with the help of a folding, decorate the poems of Eluard. On the back, we read the mention Lucien Bonnafé 14-XII-43, from the name of the psychiatrist and friend of the couple Eluard who had lent them refuge in his asylum. A similar manuscript giving only a few stanzas of the same collection, dated January 1, 1944, appeared in the sale of the Collection Geneviève et Jean-Paul Kahn III, June 18, 2021, No. 165. Attached: - Seven poems of love in war. Without place or date [Saint-Flour, 1943]. Booklet in-16 of 8 pages, stapled. Original clandestine edition. Copy as issued.
