[REVIEW]. L'Archibras. Paris, Le Terrain Vague, April 1967-M - Lot 412
[REVIEW]. L'Archibras. Paris, Le Terrain Vague, April 1967-March 1969. 7 fascicules in-4, stapled, decorated box by Pierre Mercier. Complete collection of the review directed by Jean Schuster. The Archibras borrows its name from a text of Charles Fourier. Abundant illustration by Pierre Alechinsky, Jean Benoît, Victor Brauner, Camacho, Heisler, Ivsic, Miró, Paranagua, Parent, Picabia, Posada, José Sanchez, Sengai, Jean-Claude Silbermann, Hervé Télémaque, etc. "This magazine, which replaced La Brèche at Breton's request, bears witness to the experiments and research that were going on within the Surrealist group. It opens to writers foreign to surrealism: Herbert Marcuse, Dionys Mascolo, Marguerite Duras... It also bears witness to the struggles of American Black Power; it reports on the enthusiasm of members of the group for Castro after a trip to Cuba. The magazine ends with the dissolution of the group" (https://melusine-surrealisme.fr).
