The finesse, elegance and originality of his productions attracted fashionable dealers and several prominent figures, including the Prince de Beauvau and the Count d'Orsay. His merits earned him the protection of Mme du Barry. The Countess had turned to him at the very beginning of her fortune to furnish the apartment she had just obtained in the Château de Fontainebleau. From then on, she attached him to her service, in collaboration with the sculptor Guichard and the gilder Cagny. While he was busy with this work, Delanois undertook, with the help of sculptor Coulonjon, some very fine seating commissioned by the King of Poland, Stanislas II Poniatowski. Between 1770 and 1777, he delivered a large number of works to the Prince de Condé, for the Palais Bourbon, the Château de Chantilly and the Prince's other residences in Versailles, Fontainebleau and Vanves. The Comte d'Artois and the Duc de Chartres were also his clients, along with the Cardinal de Rochechouart, the Prince de Rohan-Guémené, Archbishop of Bordeaux, the Vicomte Choiseul, the Marquise d'Hautefort and the President Molé. He also had correspondents in the provinces and abroad, such as Choné and Satou in St. Petersburg, through whom he sold 15,000 livres worth of merchandise. Expert: Stéphane Pépe.
