Born in Paris in 1972, Stem discovered graffiti in 1987. Immediately captivated by this new art form, he cut his teeth in the corridors, stations and warehouses of the Paris metro under the name Stem. In 1991, with his "colleagues" Oeno and Gary, he became one of the first two
first two taggers to be imprisoned in France for having made the headlines at the time. Indeed, the prestigious "Louvre" metro station was repainted by Stem and his two associates. Shortly afterwards, Stem changed its name to Chaze.
