Very important and original Savonnerie-style point carpet from the 20th century in the taste of 17th-century carpets under Louis XIV. Wool velvet on cotton backing, decorated with a central medallion featuring a floral crown surrounded by reserves bearing the coat of arms of France and fleurs-de-lis, and a double medallion with symmetrical landscapes. Four spandrels with black backgrounds decorated with twisted acanthus leaves surrounded by crenellated ribbons in pastel shades, and scrolled foliage. H_550 cm L_ 360 cm. Expert : Frank Kassapian
