Gilbert LISKEN (20th century) - Lot 213
Gilbert LISKEN (20th century) Abstract composition Acrylic on canvas Signed and dated 86 lower left Countersigned and countersigned on reverse H_ 92 cm W_73 cm Folded canvas, stains and slight paint removal Initially involved in figurative painting in the 1960s, Gilbert Liskenne, who signs his canvases "Lisken", later evolved his painting towards more complex themes combining rhythm and mechanics, creating his works according to the music he listens to. These themes eventually led him to explore abstraction in the 1980s, the period to which our painting belongs.
