ERNEST PIGNON ERNEST (Born 1942) - Lot 122
ERNEST PIGNON ERNEST (Born 1942)
Poster from the "affichage sauvage" performance, 1975, in Nice
H_268 cm W_97 cm
In 1975, Ernest Pignon-Ernest produced a series of screen-printed posters, which he pasted in the streets of Nice for an entire night, accompanied by a few friends. Their purpose was to protest against the twinning of the city of Nice with Cape Town, South Africa, during the same years as the hardening of apartheid policy.
