Chest of drawers by Joseph SCHMITZ. Louis XV period. Rosewood veneered curved chest of drawers opening with two drawers and a recessed crossbar. The front features a large contrasting frieze in a counter background. The sides are similar. The curved uprights rest on cambered feet. Chased and gilded bronze trim: lock escutcheons, draw knobs and set sabots. Royal red marble top with corbin. Stamped J. SCHMITZ Joseph SCHMITZ Cité Maître in 1761. Jurande JME. Paris.
