Old and fine carpet Isfahan (Persia), early 20th century High-quality silky lambswool pile on cotton backing. Density: approx. 7500 knots per dm2. Remarkable finesse. Beautiful polychromy. Ivory field decorated with polychrome scrolls and garlands of stylized palmettes of flowers and foliage, framing a large central medallion with floral crown. Four garnet spandrels with floral bulbs ending in stylized ram's horns. Five borders, the beige one with a design reminiscent of the central field. Height 128 cm W_198 cm Expert : Frank Kassapian
