Antique and original Mahal carpet (Persia), late 19th century Quality wool velvet on cotton backing. Fairly good condition. Slight natural oxidation, proof of age. Ivory field decorated with a large, highly original midnight-blue central medallion inlaid with ring-shaped crenellated branches. Four spandrels reminiscent of the central medallion. Triple border, the main one coral with a semiset of flowers linked by finely drawn sky-blue rings. Beautiful visual balance. H_135 cm L_190 cm Expert : Frank Kassapian
