Large and fine Ghoum silk carpet (Iran), circa 1965, - Lot 59
Large and fine Ghoum silk carpet (Iran), circa 1965, Shah era. Silk velvet on silk backing (silk warp, weft and fringe). Density: approx.10000 knots per dm2. Good condition. Ivory field decorated with scrolls and garlands of palmettes of flowers surrounded by fine crenellated branches and stylized foliage, adorned with a large central ruby rosette with floral crown. Four spandrels reminiscent of the central medallion. Triple borders, the main one ruby-red with interlacing floral bulbs and finely drawn twisted stems. H_300 cm L_200 cm Expert : Frank Kassapian
