Exceptional, important and very fine Isfahan carpet (Iran), Shah period, circa 1960/65 High-quality silky lambswool velvet on silk backing. Density: approx. 9,000 knots per dm2. Remarkable finesse. Good overall condition. Ivory field decorated with polychrome scrolls and garlands of palmettes of stylized flowers surrounded by serrated foliage framing a central ruby and royal blue rosette with floral crown. Four Prussian blue spandrels with floral bulbs. Five borders, the main one royal blue with interlacing fine crenellated stems surrounding fine floral buds. H_300 cm L_200 cm Expert : Frank Kassapian
