Rare and very old Moudjour carpet (Asia Minor-Central Anatolia), early 18th century A collector's item! Wool velvet on wool foundation. Natural wear and tear. Lined carpet. Beautiful polychromy. Emerald green field decorated with a crenellated mihrab (the gateway to heaven), adorned with a composition of stylized tulip branches. Double brick spandrels with stylized birds taking flight on the diagonal. Prussian blue band inlaid with a saffron yellow octagonal medallion.
