Important, exceptional and antique HÉRIZ all-silk carpet (Persia), late 19th century Dimensions : 440 x 305cm. Technical features : Silk velvet on silk backing. A magnificent and imposing old gold abrachée border decorated with a succession of vases with opulent bouquets of varied flowers, framed by three counter-borders, two navy blue with garlands of florets and one ivory with floral arabesques, highlight a rectangular navy field with polychrome scrolls and floral stems. An oblong, espaliered central medallion in orange-red, where the aforementioned decoration continues and two exuberant lotus flowers bloom, is the setting for a superb multicolored floral rosette set on an ivory "silk square" with accolades.
