Very rare and very old Ningxia (China) rug, late 17th century, early 18th century A collector's item! Size 235 x 160 cm Wool velvet on cotton backing. An original pale pink field decorated with small pedestal tables, flower vases, tchis and multicolored floral stems frames a bluish nimbed Fô dog and its shadow. Four symbolic interlacing spandrels frame the ensemble. Prussian blue main border with stylized flower garlands. Internal pearl row highlight. Beautiful symbolism (natural oxidation and wear).
