Important oval-shaped table centerpiece in hammered and chased silver, decorated with a wide frieze of acanthus enrubannée, enriched with forty-eight malachite cabochons and edged with moldings. Italy. 20th century. Engraved mark: Gianmaria Buccellati Silver hallmark 925/000 Goldsmith's hallmark Gross weight: 2,209 gr H_13 cm L_43 W_33 cm This model was created in 1976 for the opening of the boutique at 239 rue Saint Honoré near Place Vendôme. The Doge collection recalls the splendors of Venetian art, the Renaissance and Mario BUCELLATI's immense admiration for the city of Venice. The collection comprises important oval, round, octagonal or decagonal bowls in hammered and hand-chased silver, enriched with malachite, lapis and red jasper cabochons or with a combination of large pearls, preferably Osmenia.
