LOUYS Pierre (1870-1925). Writer. - Lot 150
LOUYS Pierre (1870-1925). Writer.
L.A.S. to his brother Georges. Biarritz, Saturday (July 26, 1906). 4 pp. bifeuillet in-8, letterhead with engraving of Hôtel de la Maison Carré; envelope enclosed.
Long recriminations against her brother's cook; "Paz found yesterday in Augusta's room three letters from your cook, one of which is a sort of diary written on minister paper. Each of her letters begins with (...) the grossest insults against you, about the observations and scenes you make to her (...). These words are so low and so hateful that I don't want to put them in front of you (...). This girl adds that she went to see François and that François advised her to "take you to the criminal court" for scolding him. After this unvarying start, two-thirds of each letter is devoted to bedtime stories (...). She has several ordinary lovers and can't wait to make more, naming those she hopes to seduce, etc. The concierge brings in whoever she wants, at whatever time. The concierge is her confidant (...). Once again, all it takes is for the first prowler to come into the Ministry at night, saying he's going to sleep with a cook, for the concierge to open the doors without explanation (...). That seems to me to be the most serious aspect of the whole thing (...)." He asked Paz to put the letters back where she'd found them, and urged his brother to make a decision, and so on.
