PEGUY (Charles). Manuscrit aut. S.l.n.d. 1 p. in-8 oblong. - Lot 185
PEGUY (Charles). Manuscrit aut. S.l.n.d. 1 p. in-8 oblong. Obituary for Péguy's Cahiers de la quinzaine; mentions the death of "our friend Charles Amey, English teacher at the Collège de Bonneville (...). From a Protestant family, he loved sentimentally, faithfully and deeply what we want to do. Modest and solid in his work, he did his share of the moral revolution without personal ambition or uproar. Loving above all the work of teaching, far away in the provinces, he expected much from popular education (...)." ATTACHED a fragment of aut. manuscript and 3 newspaper clippings annotated by Péguy about Anatole France's speech on Diderot's Encyclopédie.
