A very rare collection of works by Karel Du-Jardin (1626–1678), a Dutch engraver of the Golden Age, known for his landscapes. A student of Nicolas Berchem (1620–1683) and Paulus Potter (1625–1654), he created these engravings after his stay in Italy, depicting scenes of pastoral life, animals, and rural landscapes in the Italian style, as well as battle scenes and picturesque portraits. Reissued in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, our set of prints on laid paper opens with a frontispiece featuring a fountain and concludes with *Le Petit Savoyard*; the print numbered 51 is by Nicolas Berchem.S
