ITALY - Deed. August 13–14, 1571. Oblong vellum, 29 x 87 cm; in Latin and Italian. Copy of four notarial deeds from the office of Anibal and Antoine Carrarius, notaries, concerning the estate of the Malacreda (or Malacrea) family in Padua, at the request of Jean-Baptiste Contareno and Andrea de Monte, rector of the Church of St. Lucy, guardian of the minors Barthélémy and Ghirardi, sons of Ghirardi Malacreda, in accordance with the terms of his will dated March 1570. The deeds concern the leasing of several plots of arable land or land planted with vineyards and fruit trees in Appone (villa Apponi?); and a house located in Padua on the circular square, adjacent to a fountain and in need of significant repairs; the estate is contested by several claimants, including the nuns of the Monastery of St. Nicholas (?), and the sale is to be made for their benefit.
