Collection of original cuttings, drawings and "alchemy". [1971-1972]. Large in-4, olive calf, smooth spine decorated with a mosaic of pale green box pieces, large decorations on the boards composed, for half of a mosaic of pale green box pieces and, for the other, of fragments of resin in relief and plasticized, in several tones, lining and endpapers of mustard suede, folder, case (Leroux, 1977). Exceptional collection of original works by Ladislav Novak gathered by Jean Parizel and bound in an extravagant decorated binding by Georges Leroux. The set includes: - three white paper cut-outs pasted on a black background, signed - 15 original pen-and-ink drawings of various sizes, seven of which, all signed, have been accordion-mounted (three of these drawings have been reproduced in the following booklet). - catalog of the exhibition Novak at the Galerie Les Mains libres (by Jean Petithory). Copy n° I of the first edition on Mat Sup with two lithographs signed and one alchemy signed. Autograph signed "to Mr. Jean Parizel, with all [sic] regards. Ladislav Novak." - 20 alchemicals, some mounted in accordion, showing the progressive degradation and dematerialization by the application of solvents and collages of the reproduction of an old Flemish painting (portrait of woman with child). These different images are photographic transfers on paper. In the early 1960s, the Czech painter Ladislav Novak (1925-1999) developed "alchemy", i.e. images that he progressively modified and degraded by means of solvents. A unique set created by and bound for the most secretive bibliophile of the 20th century , Jean Parizel.
